The correct response to last week's blog math question was That Sara's cookies cost $0.83 each and twenty of them would cost $16.60.  John's cookies cost $0.77 each, therefore John's cookies are a better deal.

A rectangular counter top on a kitchen island measures 2m by 1m.  The owners want to cover it with ceramic tile.  Each tile  is a 10cm square.  Do not worry about the grout that would be used in between the tiles.  How many tiles are needed?  If each tile costs $2.49, what would the total cost be?  Justify your thinking.
