Using Remainders and Grade 6 Science

This week the grade six students in my rotary science class have been working on partner research projects.  They are researching an organism of their choice and creating a slideshow using Chromebooks, based on an outline I provided to them.  A blue rubric will come home next week with that evaluation on it.  Watch for it!

This week our class worked in small groups, tackling the idea of what to do with remainders when dividing.  We discovered that we need to use logic to decide if the remainder means that the quotient must increase, or if we drop the remainder and just use the quotient as our final answer.
