Last week we began our latest unit in Literacy. The reading strategy that we are focusing on now is visualizing (but we will continue to work on connections since we are still developing this skill). We examined a text about the discovery of a new species of frog called the Purple Frog, but I did not reveal the image. Each student was required to visualize and sketch what they "saw". Shown here are the sketches. A few students earned good news tickets for their accuracy. Click above to see an informational video clip about this unique species.
On Friday we enjoyed an afternoon of Hallowe'en fun. In addition to the assembly, we sported our costumes, shared treats and played Hallowe'en bingo with prizes. Here we are assembling our bingo cards.
