Mad Minute and Book Talks

Image result for mad minute logoYesterday was Mad Minute Monday. Congratulations to Nate who scored the highest number of correct responses this time around. Extra special congratulations are also extended to NATE because he is the only student who has increased consistently, never having a lower score than the first week.  Keep up the great work!  The last three worksheets and summary sheet will be sent home today for parents' signature and metacognition.

Image result for book talksDid you know that our class has begun working on book talks?  Each student will present one by the end of the month of November.  They will be earning a reading mark and an oral presentation mark for their efforts.  The book they have selected must be completely read at school and the work completed at school, with none of the work completed at home.  Each student has an outline, rubric, and will have the opportunity to use the software "Audacity" to assist them with rehearsing their presentation.  Rubrics will be sent home for a parent signature at the end of the month.  Happy Reading!
