Media Literacy

Today all of the female students, teachers, and student teachers travelled to Holy Names High School to view a presentation about Media Literacy and body image given by Nicole Clark.  The students seemed to hear the message loud and clear!  They learned about the untruths that are conveyed through the media which puts pressure on girls and women to do things to their bodies and/or spend unnecessary money in order to "fit in".  This is an important message for males to hear as well, since they can also get the wrong impression from the media and have unrealistic expectations of the females in society.

Today it was announced that Maddy won $25 worth of books at our school's book fair AND that I also was able to select $25 worth of books for our classroom.  More new books will be added to the shelves tomorrow!  Thank you and congratulations Maddy!
All of the completed math tests have been marked, but we are still waiting for two of our friends to finish writing it.  Hopefully they can be returned tomorrow.  Stay tuned!
Tomorrow is cookie dough delivery day!  If your order is too large for your child(ren) to carry it home, then parents will be able to pick up the cookie dough in the gym between the hours of 3 and 6pm.  All items must be picked up as they need to be refrigerated or frozen and we do not have the storage space at school for the large amount of product that will be arriving tomorrow!  Thanks for your assistance in this matter!
