Math Test on the Horizon

Our latest math test, evaluating the measurement strand, will be held on Thursday.  Please note that we have not followed unit 6 in our textbook completely because it does not align with the curriculum.  We will be evaluated on surface area of a rectangular prism, volume of a rectangular prism, capacity using metric units, mass using metric units, and conversion from one unit to the other.  Please refer to the anchor charts on our website (use the link above) for studying purposes.  The SWYK for this unit will be sent home tomorrow for a parent signature.  Please return it promptly.

As of yesterday, we have collected 89 milk bags since January 4!  Keep them coming!

We began our sculptures using coat hangers and panty hose yesterday.  Special thanks is extended to Mr. Plante who donated the blocks of wood, and to Mr. Colautti who drilled all of the holes in them.  Some students did not have the required supplies at school to use and I had to pull from my stash so that they could begin with us.  Please send in any late supplies so that I may replenish my stock.

Popcorn is coming!
The Social Justice Club will be selling Kernels popcorn every Friday starting on January 22! Each bag will be $2 and all proceeds will go to help provide educational support to our AdoptAVillage in Sierra Leone. Flavours include: Butter Salt, Dill Pickle, Salt and Vinegar, White Cheddar, and LowFat Caramel. All popcorn meets the nutritional criteria outlined by the Ministry of Education and is gluten AND nut free!  Thank you for your support!
