Blog Math and Gallery

Image result for cat tshirt|Congratulations to the whole class who handed in their blog math yesterday!  That hasn't happened in a LONG time!  The answer to last week's question is that the original price for the t-shirt was $18.75 ($15.00 divided by 0.8).  When you multiply that by 13% you find that the tax is $1.95.  The total new price is $16.95.

Here is the latest question which is due on Tuesday May 9.

Image result for credit cardFred went on a spending spree and purchased the following items:  Chromebook $300, cell phone $275, DVR player $65,  and three movies for $10 each.  He decided to put all of this on his credit card.  a) Calculate the total bill including the 13% sales tax.  b)  If Fred forgets to pay his bill at the end of the month, 28.5% interest will be added.  Calculate the interest and the new balance on his credit card.  Justify your thinking.

Here is the gallery of our water colour paintings hanging in the hall near the gym.  What a great job!
