Good News and Relief Effort

 Congratulations to the following students who one the Good News ticket draw on Friday:  Jason, Tin, and Angelina.  Keep up the good work!

The news about the fire in Fort McMurray Alberta is devastating.  Some students in our class have relatives and/or friends who had to evacuate and have basically lost everything.  On Thursday I suggested that we coordinate a fund raiser at our school that could involve everyone and the funds collected could be forwarded to the Canadian Red Cross.  All donations will be matched by the Canadian Government and the Government of Alberta, in essence tripling the donations.  The students and I brainstormed ideas on Friday and we will work out the kinks this week.  Stay tuned to the latest updates on our efforts.  If you haven't had the opportunity to view footage, click the link here for some shocking experiences.
