We have been constructing circuits and learning how to perform the steps of the scientific method in science.  We are learning the difference between observations and conclusions.  We have also learned that we have to be very specific when writing procedures - we cannot assume anything - or leave it to chance (such as not including the light bulb).

The list of finalists, heroine that could appear on Canadian currency in 2018, has been announced by the Bank of Canada.  Unfortunately Laura Secord (our nominee) did not make it onto that list.  The good news is that Nellie McClung and Emily Carr did.  These ladies were on our short list of candidates before we decided to nominate Laura. Did you know that the United States will also be honouring a significant female on their twenty dollar bill in 2020?  They have selected Harriet Tubman, a very worthy candidate, since she wound up being a conductor on the Underground Railroad.  We studied her earlier this year too!  Ask your child about it!  Click on the link here to learn more about that also!  It is about time that women are recognized for their achievements and accomplishments!
