Three-Part Tableaux

Last week we completed our work on tableaux in drama.  The final task was for groups of students to perform a fairy tale based on a text I provided them, and do it well enough that the class could guess.  Rubrics went home last week.  Check out the photos.

Good News!

Image result for EQAO mathDon't forget that tomorrow we will be writing the first portion of the math assessment for EQAO.  Make sure you have a geometry set and calculator with you!

Image result for car washBe sure to check the car wash schedule in your child's Google Drive for the latest updates on our event.  We now have car wash soap, four hoses, hotdogs, monetary donations, and the promise of many bake sale items.  WE STILL DESPERATELY NEED A BARBECUE AND CAR WASH MITTS.  Many students have written and rehearsed announcements that will be made all week at school about the car wash and walk-a-thon.  Keep collecting pledges too!  Thanks so much for all of the support!
Those students who volunteered to join us on Sunday will be bringing home a permission form which must be returned by Thursday.  Don't forget that students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the event that day.

Blog Math and EQAO

allowed anchor charts
The final blog math question was due Tuesday and the correct answer was Company C offered the best deal at $0.05/min.

Yesterday we worked on the EQAO assessment for the first day.  They did a great job of being still and quiet for the whole hour.  The students have commented on how different our room looks without all of the anchor charts that we have created during the last 9 months.  The only charts allowed are the four created by EQAO that coach students on how to answer questions correctly.  Check out the photos!

Literature Circle Meeting #1

Jacob's Rescue
Holes

The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe

On Friday we held our first Literature Circle meeting.  After reminders about proper group sharing technique, the groups worked very well for the most part.  There were a few students that did not complete the work that they had ALL WEEK to complete.  This is reflected in their mark for that week.  I brought home all the duo tangs on the weekend and evaluated their work.  We will continue this process again this week.
