Yesterday we participated in our Thanksgiving Liturgy of the Word in our gym. Many grade eights led us in prayer, song, and reflection. It is very important to stop and realize how fortunate we really are.
For math, we continued to work on deciphering patterns. Please see the new anchor chart about how to determine a pattern. It is important to note that we are using algebra to fashion pattern rules. Therefore we WILL NOT say things such as: add two then double the number you add each time. In grade six, many pattern rules have two operations and two values, such as x2+3, +1x4, etc. I strongly recommend all students correct errors in yesterday's work. We have also begun to work with algebraic expressions, using variables.
