Creating Multimedia Presentations - Media Literacy

Our class has begun to create multimedia presentations using the Star Office8 Impress software.  The first step was for me to teach them how to use the program and ensure they could insert visuals.  The students each created a mini presentation for practise, and learned how to present the work. The students were then given their choice of topics, but most have decided to teach their classmates about a type of drug.  This is related to our current unit of study in Health - the students are extremely interested in this.  They have a specific list of success criteria to follow, which guides them toward creating an effective product.  Next week they will conference with me, do final revisions, then prepare to present them to our class. They seem to love this and have shared their opinions that this is fun and easy!  Ask them about it!
