Tuesday and Blog Math

Image result for busses cancelledSince busses were cancelled on Tuesday, some students did not make it to school.  Truthfully, only two bussed students fell into this category from our class, and we have less bussed students than walkers, so we held a normal day.  Every student that was absent on Tuesday, regardless of the reason, is responsible to catch up on what was done.  Here is the list:
-Family Life reading and question sheet.  Grade 6s also have homework (an interview) that is due on Thursday.
-Literacy:  We read a biography about Harriet Tubman, reviewed the characteristics of a biography, and completed a graphic organizer.  We also worked collaboratively to infer three character traits, and provided evidence from the text, to support our thinking.  We began a story map about the text and it will be finished today.  Finally, we worked on our independent reading and reader's response that is due on Friday.
-Math - based on the difficulties that I observed during our diagnostic activity on Monday, we reviewed decimals to the hundredths.  All students have a package to complete.  We also played our new math game.
-Madame conducted a normal French class
-Mr. Cowan worked with the grade 6s in social studies
-Grade 7 History: we completed the reading of the causes of the War of 1812, and completed three more definitions from our vocabulary list.  We have also reviewed all three causes of the war, which must be recorded on the vocabulary sheet.  Questions #1 and 4 were assigned (see full instructions in our Google Classroom).

Happy New Year Blog Math!  This question is due on Tuesday January 17 as our regular routine dictates.
