Gym and Math Fun!

Since returning from the March Break, we have been working on fractions (but just for a fraction of the day!)  We have used many strategies to make our thinking visible including number lines, fraction circles, drawings, and Cuisinare Rods.  Here we are using the rods.

In gym we have been working on a variety of fitness circuits.  The goal is to increase our strength, stamina, and endurance as we head into the Track and Field season.  Students will be evaluated on their progress and effort.  A rubric will be sent home as the conclusion of the unit.

Thank you so much to the students who have contributed to our Mexican Fiesta basket so far.  Look what we have collected to date!

Since yesterday was April Fool's Day, Mrs. Colautti decided to make brownies for the class.  They weren't your typical type, however.   They did meet many dietary requirements, however:  dairy-free, peanut-free, and high in fibre. Take a look!

She also offered many of the adults at school a tea.  Shown here are the four varieties she had:  Earl Grey, Orange Pekoe, Cranberry, and Lemon Zinger.
Thanks to all of the good sports!
