Student-Led Conferences, Report Cards and Groundhog Day!

Tomorrow, Monday February 3, the students will receive their first term report card.  On Friday they viewed them and filled out the student section where they commented on work they are pleased with and set one goal based on my comments and their letter grades.  Included in the report card envelope is your scheduled time for your family's student-led conference.  Please return the section of the report card that requires a parent signature and the envelope ASAP.  Please do not return the pages of the report card that contain the grades and comments.  That is yours to keep.

Our planning for the student-led conferences is going very well!  The students have organized their portfolios, planned what they are going to tell you, and have begun practising.  By Thursday they should be experts!  This is also an opportunity to focus on your child and his/her learning without being disturbed by daily life.  I hope you find this experience enlightening and educational.  Looking forward to seeing all of you this week!

Happy Groundhog Day!  Have you heard if spring is expected early or not based on the tradition of rodents being weather prognosticators?  What have Wiarton Willie, Shubenacadie Sam and Punxsutawney Phil predicted for this year?  Write the answer in your agenda on the Feb 3 area and put your agenda in the IN BOX first thing Monday morning!

Be sure to have all the materials that you need for your dances (music, props) at school on Monday, as we will be practising them again!
