Advent: Preparation for Christmas

We recently completed our study of Moses's life, from birth to death, including his role in freeing the Israelites from slavery in Egypt and his reception of the Ten Commandments.  We read and discussed many stories from the books of Exodus and Deuteronomy (Old Testament).  Now we are relating the covenant to our present-day world.  Many of the students are surprised at the many ways that they commandments can and are broken on a regular basis.  We will be reviewing the Children's Examination of Conscience (with reference to the commandments) as we prepare to go to confession next week.  This is an important way to prepare our minds and hearts for Christmas.  Ask them about it!

... and here is our seventh basket... and counting!

Did you know that there is a cookie dough recall for the oatmeal chocolate chip variety?  A note was sent home earlier this week to indicate that there was a problem with one of the batches and replacements will be issued.  They will be available for pick up at the school on Wednesday December 5 between the hours of 11am and 4pm.  If you ordered one or more and received them with your original order, just stop by the office and you will be taken care of.

Please go to the Parents' Place page of this website and open and view the Catholic Update article about attending mass.
