Gym Projects

For the last few gym classes we have been preparing our gym projects:  The students must create and teach an original game.  Here are some photos of us during the preparation stages.  Presentations are scheduled to begin on Thursday Dec 10, providing there are no more interruptions to the gym schedule!

Image result for blog mathThere were mixed results regarding last week's blog math question.  Some students arrived at the correct answer, but six students did not complete it on time.  The correct answer is that Sally's snake is closer to being full grown.  The short answer is that 150/300cm is halfway while 120/270 is less than  halfway.  For that reason Sam's snake has more growing to do.  This demonstrates multiplicative thinking.  If you said that both have to grow 150cm and therefore they have the same growing to do, your numbers are correct, but this demonstrates additive thinking (which is lower level thinking).

Here is this week's question.  Please copy the question on the top of your page, then answer it open response style.  Place your paper in the IN BOX by Tuesday December 15 at 8:10 AM.
