Many Projects!

Did you know that we are in the process of working on three in-class projects?
We are doing a combined health and media literacy project to wrap up our unit on personal safety, specifically internet safety.  For this project, students were allowed to choose one of nine topics and could work alone, or with a partner.
We are also working with a partner, or in a group of three, to create a powerpoint presentation to teach our class about an organism of our choice for science.  The students will earn a science mark and a media literacy mark for this as well.
Finally, the students are working in groups to create a new game for physical education.  They will teach the game to their classmates and we will all get the chance to play it.  Since all of these projects are being evaluated, NOTHING is allowed to be done at home.  Students are being provided with the time and technology to complete the tasks in class.
In addition, for literacy, each student is working on a book talk.  They have selected their book, are reading it at school, and have selected a presentation date.  They will earn a reading mark and an oral mark for this as well.  Again, the work is completed totally as school where the success criteria, rubric, and anchor charts are able to support them as needed.
