Purple Frogs!

In our latest literacy unit we have been focusing on the reading strategy of visualizing.  Recently, I led a shared reading about purple frogs, without revealing the photograph.  Using the descriptive language, numbers, and details provided by the author, the students were asked to visualize the frog.  Then, they were each given their own miniature transparency on which they drew what they visualized.  Finally, we compared them to the actual photograph.  Here are the results.
