Shrove Tuesday

Happy Pancake Tuesday/Shrove Tuesday/ Mardi Gras!  This is the day before the first day of Lent, when traditionally Catholics have used up the "fattening" ingredients in their homes as they prepare to fast during Lent.  Fasting means to "give up" food items, in observance of the sacrifice that Jesus made for us.  Our St. Gabriel School Advisory Council will be supplying everyone at school with pancakes today.  ENJOY!

Did you know that our class and Mrs. Coates's class will be hosting the Ash Wednesday Mass tomorrow at the church at 9:30 AM?  Some students have volunteered for speaking roles, while others will have non-speaking roles.  Please plan to join us as this is the only time of the year that we get to wear an outward sign of our faith!

Lenten observance:  try not to eat meat tomorrow!  Try cheese or tuna sandwiches, pasta with marinara sauce, eggs, meatless pizza, tomato soup, macaroni and cheese, salad, etc.  Watch for our Meatless Friday Challenge after the March Break!

Pun of the Day - I used to have a fear of hurdles, but I got over it!
