Understanding Black History, the Underground Railroad, and Biographies

Today we completed the read aloud, "Wanted Dead or Alive, The True Story of Harriet Tubman" written by Ann McGovern.  We used this text to practice inferencing plot and character traits, finding the characteristics of a biography, and learning about Black History, especially emancipation (we did start reading is last month, which was Black History Month).  The students had a variety of graphic organizers to complete for a formative evaluation.

Today in math, we reviewed the work that we have been doing for the last couple of days on congruent and similar figures.  If you had work to complete at home, please be sure to use the anchor charts on the Anchor Chart Library page of this website, if you need it.

Today's classroom Lenten Promise is:  make someone smile!
