The students were taught how to select a "just right" book for independent reading using the five-finger rule. They read at school daily for 20 minutes. These books stay at school and will be used for reading conferences and reader's responses. Ask them what book they are reading, where they keep it, and where they keep track of their reading. They are doing great so far!
