Musical Molecules

M. LeBlanc was "instrumental" in "pulling some strings"  when he "arranged" for this trip to the Windsor Symphony.  We had the best seats in the house - front and center!
Onward Bound!
Best Seats in the House!

The theme to this student presentation of the symphony was science based.  The name "Musical Molecules" also has great alliteration!  The conductor, Peter Weib, did a fantastic job of explaining each piece before it was performed, introducing each instrument, and relating the production to molecules.  We learned that:
is the molecular formula for sugar,  is the molecular formula for carbon dioxide,

is the molecular formula for water.
A variety of musicians wore colourful hats and stood up with their instrument to dramatize these substances.  We heard some "sweet" music, as well as many pieces that were related to water, the water cycle, storms, The Great Lakes, etc.  Here is the view from our seats:
We were well behaved and a good time was had by all!

Don't forget to vote and review the anchor charts on the Anchor Chart Library page in preparation for our literacy evaluation tomorrow (Capitalization, Inferencing, Voice, Suffixes, Apostrophes, characteristics of Biography/Autobiography, Alliteration, Similes, and parts of speech).
