Equivalent Fractions.... Just for a Fraction of the Day!

Today we worked together to develop the rule for calculating equivalent fractions that are using numbers larger and smaller than the given fraction.  We used fraction circles to do this.  We also learned what it means to write a fraction in simplest form.  Make sure to check out the new anchor chart that was posted on the Anchor Chart Library page of this site before 5:30 pm today.

How Do WE Do This?
Hands-on Learning!
We also had our literacy evaluation today.  As usual the students sit in "test formation" to minimize distractions.
Such Concentration!
You Could Have Heard a Pin Drop!
Working Hard!

Today the students took home many handouts which included two booklets informing parents how to assist their children with their studies at home (youngest only), notes about summer sports opportunities, spring photo packages, and an order form for spring flowers.  Please check their bags.
*Please note:  the spring photo procedure is different than the fall one.  If you do not plan to keep the photos that were sent home, make sure to send them back.  Otherwise the money to pay for the photos is due April 15.
