Good News!

Congratulations to last week's Good News ticket winner:  Justin.  Keep up the good work!

Fund Raising incentive update:
As a school we have earned an extra recess (date to be announced), teacher tricycle races (already held), and sumo wrestling between Mr. Marenchin and Ms. Blain (to be held December 5 during the next WOW assembly).

As a class, unfortunately we DID NOT have 100% participation.  Those who contributed did a fantastic job, however.  As a result we have earned some free time at Curry Park (date TBA), pyjama day and a movie (date TBA), and a pot luck lunch.  The pot luck lunch will be held on Tuesday December 16.  Please decide on an item that you would like to send and your child can sign up by Friday December 12.
We also outsold all other junior classes, so we have earned an extra movie day with popcorn (date TBA).  Since we have two movie days on the horizon, I would love to hear ideas that the students have about what they would like to watch.  Movies must be rated G or some PG movies would be fine, with my approval.  If you have some suggestions, please jot them in your agenda and I will be asking for a list this week.

Congratulations to a former student of mine, 20 year old Kerby Rychel (grade 4, St. Gregory School), who made his NHL debut on Saturday night with the Columbus Blue Jackets.  Although he did not factor in the scoring, he did play for over ten minutes of ice time.  He is the former captain of the Windsor Spitfires and the only former student of mine (in my twenty-seven year teaching career) that has made it into professional sports, to my knowledge. (There are many doctors, teachers, lawyers, etc. among my former students, however.) Click here for the latest information.
